The Black Entrepreneur : Panel Discussion

October 19, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Companies throughout the nation and in Wisconsin are committed to making an impact on social and economic injustice. How can corporations act today to make an impact when we know that the essential task of reworking our justice and economic system will take time. The answer – the Black entrepreneur. As Professor Darrick Hamilton, founding director of the Institute for the Study of Race, Stratification, and Political Economy at The New School, said in a national town hall on equality in America:

“We need to stop exploiting, extracting and managing economically vulnerable people, but rather give them the resources so they can be self-determining and achieve the goals they define for themselves and be empowered.”

Michael Dermer, founder of The Lonely Entrepreneur and the Black Entrepreneur Initiative, will moderate a panel of entrepreneurs and corporate leaders to highlight how corporate leaders in Wisconsin have banded together to empower Black men and women.
