WI Tech Month Presents Women in Tech Week: Brooke Anschutz

This “Women in Tech Week” feature is dedicated to Brooke Anschutz, Senior Disaster Recovery Analyst at Associated Bank.

Brooke is a Senior Disaster Recovery Analyst for Associated Bank.

Brooke has a wide range of technical experience, beginning as a leader within our Technology Service Desk.

She transitioned to her current role 8 years ago and is currently responsible for managing our internal departmental applications and coordinating the bank’s technical disaster recovery exercises.

Brooke’s technical skill and open demeanor allow her to work successfully with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.

A bit about Brooke’s story and path for pursuing a career in tech:

At 18, Brooke enrolled in a medical program with the goal of one day becoming a surgical assistant. She quickly found out that path was not for her.  So, she took a step back from the program and started working at a label manufacturing company where every time the printer, scanner or other piece of equipment malfunctioned – she would get a call over to repair instead of IT.  Those days were pivotal in deciding a career in tech was right for her. She shares this because not every path you take is right or wrong…it’s just your path.  Recognize your strengths and take that leap – who knows where it will lead!

Brooke’s advice:

  • Be consistent.
  • Listen. I mean really listen.  Listen to understand and ask questions until you do.
  • There will be rough days.  Make tomorrow better.
  • Opportunities are always present.  Do not wait for them to find you.

Thank you Brooke for representing Women in Tech and leading by a true example within the workplace!
